Kathryn Porter is the director of youth strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, joining Hilton in 2000 as property HR director with postings including the flagship London Hilton on Park Lane. Kathryn’s current role focusses on promoting hospitality careers, providing opportunities to young people and developing a talent pipeline for the growth of the business across EMEA. Kathryn has Chaired the Hospitality Trailblazer, now the Hospitality Skills and Quality Board, since its inception in 2014, and lead the development of seven new government approved apprenticeship standards and assessment plans.  

 

The HS&Q Board continues to work together as an employer led group to spearhead sustainable apprenticeship strategies and governance.   Hilton believe in Apprenticeships and following the launch of the UK Apprenticeship Academy on 2012, Kathryn is extending the reach across Europe, Middle East and Africa in developing and innovative Hilton Global Apprenticeships – developed for Hilton by Hilton and quality assured by City & Guilds.  In September 2014, Kathryn was inducted in to the “Women 1st Top 100 club” which recognises female talent in the tourism sector. Kathryn has recently held the role of Co-Chair of the B20 Employment and Education Task Force, under the G20 German Presidency 2017.  Since April 2018, Kathryn has also taken on the role of Vice Chair of the Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network, an employer network with the objectives of celebrating, storytelling, signposting employers and providing insight to Government on apprenticeships.

Ute Basler is Head of Learning Content Design and Development for Raytheon Professional Services, responsible for all aspects of content production including needs analysis, curriculum design, development, digitalization as well as localization.

 

With close to 20 years of experience in project management, team leadership, training needs analysis & blended learning design, her subject matter expertise helps to shape RPS’ global learning projects. Holding a masters in Adult Education, she is passionate about consulting with customers and driving change in learning cultures, optimization of learning initiatives and personalised learning experiences.

 

During her career, Ute held various roles in Learning and Development in Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America, serving different industries like Automotive, Banking, Mining, Construction and the Retail Industry.

Steve Thompson is Director of Business Development for Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS), a unit of Raytheon Company. Delivering more than seven million hours of custom training in 34 languages, to learners in more than 140 countries, RPS are a global provider of training and learning services that drive measurable results.

Steve has 25 years of leadership experience with a primary focus on operations, business development, project management, and transition; he is a subject matter expert in project management including implementation and adaptation of processes. He has held several positions within the RPS management team in the UK and EMEA headquarters over the last 14 years. In his current role as Director of Business Development, he is responsible for expanding RPS’ business in Europe, Middle East and Africa in the commercial segment. Under his leadership, RPS EMEA will continue to strive to be the best training provider worldwide.

Steve is also a serving Non-Executive Director of the Institute of the Motor Industry Awards Ltd (IMIAL), representing training interests on behalf of dealers and manufacturer in the UK automotive sector.
